2016 blueAPACHE Golf Championship
Every year in July, blueAPACHE celebrate the inception of the organisation with our annual Golf Championship in Kew, Victoria. What made this year truly special is that on 30 July 2016, blueAPACHE turned 18. Few businesses reach such a milestone, and even less do so in the best shape of their life. Justifiably, this called for some hearty celebrations on the day.
The weather agreed; offering a bright, sunny day in the middle of winter. With nearly 60 employees attending, the day’s events began with the team competition. The teams were an eclectic mix of players who had never held a golf club before and a smattering of self-proclaimed almost-professionals; inspiring plenty of coaching, learning and bonding.

The team competition was followed by a leisurely three-course lunch at the on-course restaurant, intermingled with our company update and awards. There were also gifts and a very special cake to help celebrate our 18th birthday.
Post lunch, the more proficient of players battled it out in the highly coveted Individual Stroke Competition, while the others cheered them on. James was the strong favourite after hitting the first seven greens in regulation last year, followed closely by Michael and Mark. Gusty transitioning winds came as the round progressed peppering the scores, yet the competition remained fierce. It wasn’t until the last group of the day made their way to the club rooms that the new reigning champion was known.
As always, we thank everyone from blueAPACHE who joined us and helped make this day a memorable event in blueAPACHE’s extraordinary journey. We look forward to greater successes in the upcoming year and an even bigger celebration in 2017.
