The 2014 Veeam Data Center Availability Report is now available. The indepth study is based on an online survey of 760 CIOs from organisations with more than 1,000 employees and across 10 markets, including Australia.

The report shows that there are clear demands for 24/7 access to IT services and applications, with over 90 percent of enterprises increasing their requirements for minimising downtime and guaranteeing access to data. It also demonstrates there is an “availability gap” between the Always-On Business requirements and what legacy backup solutions can deliver in terms of Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).

Key statistics highlight:

    • 82% of CIOs admit that they are unable to meet their business need for immediate, always-on access to IT services.
    • This availability gap results in immediate costs: application failures cost enterprises more than $2 million a year in lost revenue, productivity, opportunities and data that’s irretrievably lost due to backups that fail to recover.
    •  90% of enterprises are looking to minimise downtime and guarantee access to data.

The report also demonstrates that large scale enterprises now need proven solutions like Veeam to deliver the availability requirements business demands. blueAPACHE has deployed integrated on-premise and cloud-based Back-up as a Service (BaaS) solutions leveraging Veeam for years, and this demand serves as testament to the quality of the offering.
